KFC Rewards, the digital-only program that drew more than a million sign-ups in its first month in the US.
KFC came to loyalty late and built it to do what the counter and drive-thru never could. Points accrue only on the app and KFC.com, redeemed for free food from a rotating Secret Recipe Vault, with no tiers and no paid membership. Every reward moves a customer off an anonymous order and into a logged-in one KFC can see, target and personalize.
The free food isn’t the prize. It’s the price KFC pays for first-party data it never had.
Loyalty Unpacked™️ is NALA’s independent content series exploring some of North America’s most recognised loyalty programs. Rather than reviewing features or scoring, we examine the commercial thinking behind programs, the problems they’re trying to solve and the questions they raise. Each edition offers practical observations, honest challenges and a NALA Insight™️ designed to help loyalty, CRM and customer engagement teams think differently about the decisions shaping modern loyalty.
